Spiral wound gasket is formed of V-shaped metallic strip and soft non-metallic filler by means of piled, spiral wound gasket and connected its end and beginning by dot welded. Depend on its excellent compression resilience, it is suitable for sealing sports where the alteration of temperature and pressure are frequent. 

It can be used as the static sealing element of pipe, valve, pump, thermal exchange, condensing tower, plain hole and man hole of flange, etc. It has been widely applied in the fields of petrochemical, mechanical factory, power station, metallurgy, shipbuilding, medical and pharmaceutical unclear power station and navigation, etc.

Note: Please offer the detailed drawing, while the gasket is used in thermal exchanger with some ribs.

SUNWELL SW600-R Basic Style Spiral Wound Gasket

Basic construction style, inner and outer diameters are reinforced with several plies of metal without filler to give greater stability and better compression characteristics.

Suitable for tongue and groove or male and female or grooved to flat face flange assemblies.

SUNWELL SW600-RIR Spiral Wound Gasket with Inner Ring

Solid inner metal ring acts as a compression stop and fills the annular space between flange bore and the inside diameter. Designed to prevent accumulation of solids, reduce turbulent flow of process fluids and minimise erosion of flange faces. 

Suitable for male and female flanges.

SUNWELL SW600-CG Spiral Wound Gasket with Outer Ring

It’s an external ring which accurately center gasket on flange face, provides additional radial strength to prevent gasket blow-out and acts as a compression stop. 

A general purpose gasket suitable for use with flat face and raised face flanges, class 900 and above an internal ring is recommended.

SUNWELL SW600-CGI Spiral Wound Gasket with Inner & Outer Rings

A style CG gasket fitted with internal ring which gives an additional compression limiting stop and provides heat and corrosion barrier protecting gasket windings and preventing flange erosion.

Suitable for use with flat face flanges and specified for high pressure & temperature service, class 900 and above or where corrosive or toxic media are present.

Other styles available upon request.

2. NPS 10’’ through NPS 24’’ is +1/16’’ ~ -1/32’’ (+1.5mm ~ -0.8mm

> The winding inside diameter

1. NPS 1/2’’ through NPS 8’’ is ±1/64’’ (±0.4mm)

2. NPS 10’’ through NPS 24’’ is ±1/32’’ (±0.8mm)

> The guide ring outside diameter: ±1/32 (±0.8mm)

> The guide ring and inner ring thickness shall be from 0.117’’ (2.97mm) to 0.131’’ (3.33mm)

> The inner ring inside diameter:

1. NPS 1/2’’ through 3’’ is ±1/32’’ (±0.8mm)

2. NPS 4’’ through 24’’ is ±1/16’’ (±1.5mm)

SUNWELL Style CG and CGI gasket centering rings are zinc electric plated or electrostatic spray providing superior corrosion resistance. It is also facilitates easier identification of the gasket as the plating does not fill in the identification marking as is prone to powder coatings.
